With the recent election of Joe Biden in the United States, many changes are prone to happen in the way the country is run.
Even though the election took place in the U.S., Canada will still experience this change in the presidency since they are so closely connected.
“Canada and the United States have a unique relationship,” said Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, “and this bond will always have a strong foundation on which we build our shared future.”
Canadians are doubtful
Justin Trudeau made a statement that he is looking forward to working with Joe Biden on the issue of climate change as he congratulated the president of the U.S., Joe Biden, and the vice-president, Kamala Harris.

During the election, Biden ran on the platform acknowledging climate change and making promises to solve the issue.
However, when asked the question, some Canadians were skeptical of his promises due to the lack of progress he accomplished against climate change in the past.
“I can be doubtful because of Joe Biden’s track record. He hasn’t done much for the environment. So hopefully, in the next four years, there will be some improvement with that,” said Zainab Raz, a Canadian student.

To have a deeper understanding of the effect Biden’s presidency will have on climate change in Canada, his climate change track record is available to the public.
Biden’s actions against climate change, recorded from the beginning of his political career to the present day, offer a perspective on what the president is willing to do to prevent the crisis from occurring in the future.
